I know it's probably been discussed on 6502.org before, but does it not make sense to have a place where forum members could share great deals, or pass on bits and pieces they no longer need? Most of the forums I'm a member of have such a place, but I'm not going to be able to buy a EEPROM chip on the trombone forum.

It's certainly good to trade and to help each other. I did start a thread about meetups quite recently. I discussed with Garth and we thought we'd see how it goes - it might, or might not, be appropriate to make it sticky. (We don't want too many sticky threads.)

Arguably there's a chicken-and-egg here. I think Mike's preference is first to see if the content is there. IIRC, the two most-recently created forums are the Forth one (created 2004), and more recently the Programmable Logic one (created 2010). They've had one or two hundred threads, which shows that the interest was there.

(For me, it comes down to scale. Places like stardot and atariage are much bigger and much busier, and need more organisation. This place is more specialised, is smaller, and in my view doesn't need more structure. anycpu has, arguably, too much structure given its even smaller scale. But re-organising has its own difficulties.)
