The linked ZIP contains a copy of the ALPHA release of my Java based 6502 development suite. I've been working on this for a while and thought it was about time to get some feedback from other 6502/65816 users.

Being Java based it should work on Windows. Mac or UNIX. You may need to modify my batch files (or create some UNIX scripts) to match your environment.

The assembler understands macros and produces relocatable modules (actually XML files - have a look). The linker is hot off the press and still needs some work.

Its free and always will be. You can find a copy here:

I updated my portable Java based development package last year adding structured assembly directives (IF/THEN/ELSE, REPEAT/WHILE/UNTIL - see the manual for details), a librarian, S19 record output from the linker and a few bug fixes.

The macro assembler produces relocatable assembler for most 6502 variants and the 65816 (not completely tested yet).

The link in the last message now points at the updated ZIP.
