Just as follow up on this, I've just had my results.
For the project I got a mark of 80% - given that they rarely, if ever, award >80% marks for projects, that's basically their way of saying we're thoroughly impressed.
For my degree, I got a mark of 83.9%, firmly in First territory.
I have also won an award for Most Outstanding Project by a Third Year CSE Student.

I want to thank you all profusely for your help, it probably would never have even worked without your input (and I acknowledged your help in my final report).
I wish you all well in your future endeavours, and hopefully from time to time you might condescend to help me with a few of mine
