Yea, same thing happened to us this year for my wife. Not an ophthalmologist, but the doctor we were using just wasn't working out at all, so, we grabbed someone from Google, and that led to her being cured. The path the original doctor had us on wouldn't have done a thing, completely wrong track. When talking with the new doctor she asked a question, my wife answered "yes", and she basically went "Aha".

Required surgery, but it all worked out in the end. My wife was afflicted for 2 years before we found this.
