I'd have to solder them for stability but I don't mind that.

Just make sure you solder them to the pads on the board only at the base of the pins, and don't get solder farther up the pin where you will later do the wraps. You want those corners to be sharp and also not have flux on them.

Unfortunately, I think this SBC is going to be mostly soldered with a little WW later. The second one will be mostly WW.

I've already blown through my play money for a while and man! Those sockets are pricey. My Jameco cart is already over $30 for just a handful of sockets. Ugh.
