Perhaps I should put in a bid. This would certainly make my new retro project more authentic!
Wonder if it will overclock up to 20MHz with a 10 pound copper heat-sink glued to the ceramic?

Wow, guess they saw an old Apple-I go for major $$ a while back and decided to see if they could cash in on same. I can't think of anyone actually wanting to pay for it... and it likely won't run at 2MHz. Still, I think the old saying is "there's a sucker born every minute" so who knows, maybe the Apple-I owner would like to invest in a backup chip ;-)

For that date, it would have the rotate bug too, I think. I've seen people selling NMOS 6502's in the plastic DIP for ridiculous prices, saying it's rare, obviously not knowing better ones are being made today.

What's an additional VIA among friends, anyhow?

Having the rotate bug would perhaps justify the price, like stamps or coins that have production flaws. But if it is just for a nice ceramic DIP processor to be shown in your vitrine this

would be more affordable. They sell for less than 100USD and if you are lucky they work up to 18MHz

Wow, cbscpe! That's a true beauty! And it has a beautiful assembly language to match. It would never be able to replace the 65xx in my heart, but it doesn't hurt to admire and day-dream from time to time, does it (as long as the 65xx doesn't get too jealous)?

No reason for the 6502 to get jealous. Although I must admit that I'm not always loyal to the 6502
