Chameleon - Arduino-compatible FPGA Shield Board

Post by MichaelM »

All:

I have received the first batch of my Chameleon Arduino-compatible FPGA shield boards.

In the process of verifying its operation. Have released PDFs of the schematics and the PCB layout on GitHUB. The plan is to put a complete M65C02 soft-core processor into the FPGA with two UARTs, an SPI master interface, and an SPI slave interface to an Arduino base board like an UNO. All FPGA and 65C02 software/firmware files will be open source under LPGL.

On completion of the verification of both the FPGA and the board, I plan to offer the Chameleon for sale as a prototyping aid in various ways: (1) bare boards, (2) kits, and (3) assembled products. I expect to develop at least one 65C02-compatible soft-core project for the board. I have been considering other soft-core projects, but I've yet to decide which direction I will take.

Here is a picture of the little board. You can see the UNO from which it is drawing power below it.
