Although the C64 didn't have slots like the Apple II, its user and expansion ports are quite flexible and easy to use.
I thumbed through a Commodore magazine about ten years ago in a book store, and remember seeing advertisements for hard discs up to 100MB for the C64. That was a lot of disc space back then. It was quite a few more years before I finally needed more than 20MB on my PC.
