Only 28 years for me. "man man?? <recoils in horror>" (It's all second nature now, but at the time, VMS was so much easier to get started with.)

I never had an opportunity to work with VMS, so I'd have no basis of comparison. UNIX made sense to me right from the beginning, which is why I dove into when the opportunity to do so came along.
