I found a bunch of Tano Dragon computers on ebay. They use a 6509 processor and CPM.

I was actually trying to find old computers that you could buy.

I didn't know about Tano - would have said Dragon Data - but the full history is here. (The design bears a resemblance to, and came after, but is not precisely a copy of, the Tandy Color Computer)

I'm not sure why it says "CPM" in the auction, because the 6809-based Dragon didn't run CP/M..
Anyway, it's tempting, I used to program a Dragon way back then. The biggest problem was the unreliable cassette-based storage.. I used to make 3 or 4 or 5 copies of everything I wrote to tape, as then there was a chance that I would be able to get the code I wrote back from at least one of the copies.

But $90 shipping (at least) to Europe.. hm. NTSC is OK these days, or anyway there are other possibilities. 110V, presumably, so would need a transformer.. in the end the $90 shipping is probably what stops me.

I believe one could run the Flex operating system on those things, and possibly other 6809-based operating systems. I used to have Flex and listings and docu, haven't seen any of it for years so probably got lost or dumped at some point.

There is a trickle of Dragons on the UK ebay for reasonable prices. You might need to negotiate shipping to the rest of Europe, and they wouldn't be new stock. Chuck's find is great for people in North America.

£13.50 22 Apr
£38.65 21 Apr
£70.00 21 Apr
£29.99 21 Apr
£24.99 14 Apr
£26.00 09 Apr

They emailed me back and said they have a significant number of them left in stock. The reason why it is so expensive to ship is in the email I received:

Quote:
Because each Dragon ships at 19 pounds,
the cost of shipping is substantial.
West Coast shipping costs
$20, East Coast is about $30.
Foreign: The postal service no longer
offers ocean/surface transit. The Dragon
must ship either by air freight courier or
air mail. Shipping cost to the UK and most
of Europe is about $90 each
