I am planning on ordering some S-100 6502 CPU board PCBs in the near future. If you are interested them please contact me. They will be $20 each plus $3 shipping in the US and $6 elsewhere.

These boards are based on the Rich Leary (author of DOS/65 a CP/M look alike for 6502 CPU) home brew board. I contacted Rich as part of the N8VEM project and constructed a prototype of his S-100 6502 CPU board.

Recently Neil completed the build and test phase for the S-100 6502 and found a few minor errors. Those have been fixed in the final board. Results of this build and test are in the wiki folder

This board is a bus master only with no onboard SRAM or IO. It does provide for a small boot ROM.

Hi! All the specifications (to the extent there are any) are contained at the N8VEM wiki for the S-100 6502 CPU board. This is a PCB recreation of a home brew (read: wire wrapped one-of-a-kind prototype) S-100 6502 CPU board. It is in on going development however the group has decided to proceed with a V1 version for now to capture the existing baseline before tackling the more complicated issues.

The V1 version board is CPU bus master only with only a boot ROM. The V1 version is meant as an intermediate design to help the builders capture the concept we want for V2. It has a is a large prototyping area for builder customization. For V2 we are discussing a variety of improvements including the TMI circuitry (multiple CPU bus master), possibly onboard SRAM and/or IO, and additional PHANTOM options. PS, to be perfectly blunt and fully disclose my interests here: we need about 20 firm boards for builders in the queue to make a PCB manufacturing order economical. At the moment there about 15 in the queue. Even if you never actually build the board, if you would like to see this happen we need about 5 more to get this going so it is something to consider.

Yes, the S-100 6502 CPU board is a project between Rich Leary, the author of DOS/65 and who made the original prototype board, and myself. Together we made the S-100 6502 CPU board V1 and I have some of those PCBs remaining but not very many.

John Monahan is also helping design and build the S-100 6502 CPU board V2 which will do everything the V1 board did plus have TMI circuitry for full IEEE-696 compatibility for multiple CPU master operation. The S-100 6502 CPU board V2 is currently in development. John and I have worked on several S-100 boards as part of the joint S100computers.com and N8VEM home brew computer project.

The original design credit goes to Rich Leary though and without his endless patience and generousity there would be no S-100 6502 CPU board at all.

I was considering purchasing one of the S-100 boards as I was revamping an S-100 computer system. The owner got someone else to work on the system as I was taking too long since my main part was reverse engineering to make sure the system was repairable, as it was not before.

At the N8VEM project we are getting ready for another run of the S-100 6502 CPU V2 board. The board is similar to the V1 version with some minor fixes and the addition of TMAx circuitry to allow well-behaved multiple CPU compatibility. It can be either a Master or Slave CPU in an S-100 system in an IEEE-696 compliant fashion.

These are very nice boards and are not available very often. They will cost $20 each plus shipping. To reserve your board(s) please contact me. I need a total of 20 PCBs minimum to warrant the manufacturing order and currently have 17 so there needs to be a minimum of three more before this will happen.
