Because I recently became the owner of Apple2plus and I would like to implement some ideas on it. I'm looking for an assembler, or better yet, a macro assembler that would allow me to compile programs directly to RAM, and would also allow direct compilation to the $C000-$CFFF .
Currently, the only one I have found is Mini-assembler, but it is a bit cumbersome for larger tasks ;)

Can anyone advise me which program to use?

Merlin was pretty much the gold standard for assembly back in the day. Even better if you had an 80 column card. You can find disk images on asimov (FTP only) or its mirrors.

I used something called TED II+ back in the day. Really not sure if it had macros or not (I suspect not) but it did support Sweet16 which I was also writing a little bit of support code in...
