I just walked over to the campus library and found exactly Four books on Forth on the shelf. As I'm headed off on vacation I checked out The second edition of Starting Fourth by Brodie and Object Oriented Forth by Pountain.

Starting Forth is where I got my start. The paper book has some outdated things, but the principles remain, and the book is clear and humorous. There's a somewhat modernized version on Forth, Inc.'s website, at https://www.forth.com/starting-forth/ . Brodie's book "Thinking Forth" is an excellent follow-up. If time were no object, I know I should re-read it every few years.

My first exposure to programming Forth was when I found a C64 Forth cartridge for the Commodore 64 at a computer store. The library had a copy of Starting Forth. When I get the time, I'd like to reread Thinking Forth and a book by Tim Hendlass, Real Time Forth.
