There's an interesting variation on the 6502 instruction set defined and emulated in the minecraft world, which brings in some 65816 instructions and also multiply and divide.
The inventor is
Eloraam. There's at least one
emulator and
assembler for the machine. As it's intended for industrial control in a virtual environment it's not necessarily good for physical implementation, but then again it might be: FGPA is certainly fine with fast multiplication.
