My project is almost ready, but I have one small question. The monitor program I'm going to use was written for a MOS 6502. Will it work on the 65C02? It's a simple monitor with nothing special, but will the 65C02 run the MOS code? Most of the uP comparisions I've found, discuss the new features, but don't discuss software compatibility. |

Hi! Your 65C02 should run fine. It supports all the original 6502 opcodes and also has some added opcodes that can make coding a little easier. I know there are many "undocumented" opcodes in the original 6502 that perform useful functions but your monitor code most likely only used the published opcodes. Good luck! Daryl |
