I am really amazed to see all the discussions about the 6502 microprocessor. I have been programming this micro for at least 20 years, and find it an easy mirco to program because its instruction set is so intuitive.

I have assembled a full blown system around the Synertek Systems SYM-1, including a full 64k bank of ROM/RAM, 71 lines of programmable I/O, floppy disk interface, modem communications, 2 9600 baud serial ports, a 2 pass assembler with full editor, BASIC, FORTH, a dissasembler, and various other items.

The sym had a large following including a news letter. All the documentation was placed in the public domain several years ago. I have most, if not all, of the published documentation on the SYM.

Right now I am working on a front end controller for the various lines of external PC radios using this system.

Leslie Ayling has some SYM-1 information hosted on www.6502.org. We also have a growing amount of KIM-1 documents. SYM-1, KIM-1, AIM-65, and other early microcomputers belong on the web. Please send any information you can to me via e-mail and I will incorporate it into the site. If you have mostly printed information, I can reimburse your photocopying and shipping costs and I'll scan them into PDF files.

Leland was kind enough to photocopy and send me all of the issues of SYM-PHYSIS, a SYM-1 hacker newsletter. I will be slowing adding these issues to www.6502.org as I get them scanned and edited.

I am greatly interested in creating a giant central point for all SYM/KIM/AIM information. If anyone has any info they'd like to have posted to the www.6502.org site, please let me know.

I'd love to contribute, but moving 40mb or so of AIM information could be problematic brom a bandwidth perspective. What I propose is that you make a link to my AIM pages. If need be, I can reorganize my site to be a little easier to use {Your comments in this regard would be appreciated}.

Although I didn't take an exact count of the AIM data alone, the total size of my Web site is ~250mb. My 40mb guess would not include the CSG data sheets.

Later... I counted 26 files with a total size of 50.2mb.

There are 4-5 AIM books that are part of those scans. I'm also working on getting a bunch of original Applications Notes and other data sheets relating to the AIM. I would then scan and contribute these also, in addition to posting them to my own site.
