How do you assemble EhBasic?

I've got the source for v2.22 from https://github.com/Klaus2m5
I've tried assembling with Kingswood as65, which barfs out with every line complaining "invalid mnemonic"
I've tried assembling with cc65's assembler, which barfs out with hundreds of "Error: `:' expected".

Maybe try Jeff Tranter's version which has a cc65 Makefile:

Wonderful, it was the --feature labels_without_colons that was missing.

This is the original version from Lee's website and can be assembled (and runs) with Kowalski's simulator. AS65 requires all mnemonics to be lowercase, but comes with a conversion utility.
