I'm new to 6522's and I've got one connected to my 6502 system with CS2 going to 0xA000, RS0-3 going to A0-A4, RESET to RESET on CPU, PHI2 to PHI2 on CPU and D0-D7 to databus on CPU. IRQ is tied high.

If I put 0xFF into DDRA (0xA003), then put 0x55 into port A (0xA001) the pins on port A all show up as 5V, why? Is there something simple I'm missing? I've double checked my wiring and it is all correct.

I'm pretty sure the interfacing is correct, I can read back the values of the registers that I program. Any ideas.

thanks.

Nevermind, it was a programming error. All is good.

In the "Tip of the Day" column starting at http://www.6502.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=342 , tip numbers 4 through 9, 11, and 15 through 21 are about the 6522.
