I found this SRAM chip from Cypress which I'm considering for my next SBC. It is 512kx8 with 12ns access time. but, it's only available as a 36 pin SOJ.

Does anyone know the best way of mounting these? So far, I have only been able to find a socket that had SMT legs. Are there thru-hole sockets available?

Here is a link to the datasheet from jameco.com's web site:

Thanks!

Daryl

Wally's right. See if http://www.arieselec.com/Web_Data_Sheet ... /18065.htm is the one you need. From looking over their website, it looks like they have a lot of parts that were probably not in the catalog when someone first asked for them and they made them standard items with the expectation that others would have the same need. IOW, if they don't have just the thing, they might do a custom one for you without charging NRE if they can amortize it over the probable number of units of the same thing they can sell to other people.

With a 12ns memory though, make sure that especially the power and ground connections from the IC to your board will be very short. This will be less of a problem is they're in the center than if they're at the corners.
