There was a topic about my project in the General section but I thought perhaps I should start one here in hardware. Today I reached a big milestone in that I finally have an assembled (and slightly flawed) prototype. The biggest problem is that the Up/Down buttons caps don't fit! I also goofed on the MISO/MOSI lines and they are backwards. I had to cut the traces on the top board and run wires.
Here is the feature set:
- 65C02 at 1mhz
- 6522, 6551
- 16kb RAM, 32kb EEPROM
- Swappable game cartridges on 8kb FRAM through SPI
- 128x64 OLED
- System ABI separate from game logic
- 1 voice of sound using shift register in VIA
