There was a topic about my project in the General section but I thought perhaps I should start one here in hardware. Today I reached a big milestone in that I finally have an assembled (and slightly flawed) prototype. The biggest problem is that the Up/Down buttons caps don't fit! I also goofed on the MISO/MOSI lines and they are backwards. I had to cut the traces on the top board and run wires.

Here is the feature set:
  • 65C02 at 1mhz
  • 6522, 6551
  • 16kb RAM, 32kb EEPROM
  • Swappable game cartridges on 8kb FRAM through SPI
  • 128x64 OLED
  • System ABI separate from game logic
  • 1 voice of sound using shift register in VIA

I have been logging the progress at Hackaday here: https://hackaday.io/project/9325-dodo-6502-game-system
