Hello!

I just stumbled across this audio module, and i think this might be a good way to give quality sound to a 6502 or any other cpu. The module has mp3 decoder d/a converter, sd card reader, usb port, uart, i2c... And it seems it can be easily interfaced. Here is the link below, and is it possible to make a sound system expansion board out of this(i have my own 6502 sbc project...)

I red the datasheet, and it seems it has a megabyte or two of integrated memory, so it can load up sounds or voice instructions, that could be played without any sd memory... But i was more interested to use this as a sound module and sd card reader...

Hello, me again!

I digged this module a bit more, and i found out, that when you try to buy it, some crazy taxes come out, and the price goes scy rocketing...
So, i went searching for equivalent modules, and i found out this:
VS1053 MP3 Board Module on ebay, ant there are more like it, and lot more cheaper than 20€. They are not so small chip-like boards, but a bit bigger...

Edit: You can also find the WT9501M03 board at ebay:

I was considering the board but then as you said, the cost went skyrocketing.

that puts my main consideration system back in the forefront.

It is from the great site of elm-chan.org. Sadly, the site is down but a cache shows:

somehwere I have the old schematics and things on this. I will report them when I find them.
