Seeking the ROM listing to CMD°s Advanced CMOS Communication terminal Unit. (G65SC151) The CMD Data Book does not specify the standard mask ROM listing. I have wire wrapped a device to obtain the listing but I have been unsuccessful. Any errata ,rom listing, known bugs etc would be appreciated.

Hello Gordon,

I wasn't aware the CMD unit had an internal ROM. However,
WDC's 134 & 265 do, I would not be surprised if the WDC units
have compatibility with the CMD unit with the idea of being a
replacement when the 151 went obsolete. I am not that familiar
with the 151, so I am not sure which of the two devices would
be more appropriate.

I have used both WDC units, and they are relatively easy to use.
If you don't have any luck with the CMD units you may want to
give them a try.

P.S. The ROM listings for the WDC units used to be availible when they offered a Printed DataBook.

Happy New Year, Wally

The WDC 65134 is definitely not a replacement for the 65150 or '151, but the '134 is a nice microcontroller that is in production today and four times as fast as the 151's you have. You can buy it directly from Mike Naberezny here on 6502.org. Wally Daniels may not have '151 data, but he would definitely be the one to ask if you have questions on the '134 or '265. He's quite knowledgeable on them.

Before going under the name California Micro Devices (CMD), these parts were made by GTE. I have the '87 GTE data book, and it's rather ambiguous as to whether the '151 has any mask ROM program at all in it. The book does have a DTMF generator routine that it says will be incorporated in the mask ROM of future versions, but the newer data sheet on this website is only two pages and does not confirm that it's there.

There is a 65150 ap. note near the back of my book with a lot of code. I have a boat load of stuff I need to get to Mike for this website, and maybe I better add this to it.

Thanks for the clarification, I really should have been a little
clearer ;-)

My response was mainly aimed at the Mask ROM Monitor as
opposed to the Hardware. ( Even this is a bit of a stretch as
I only have a hardware Data Sheet here.....but I do have my
flame-proof snowmobile suit on ! )

Good luck with the GTE / CMD unit, if I find any more data about the GTE / CMD unit I will pass it on to the group.

BTW, it might not hurt to search any archives on the net for
comp.arch.embedded or such. There just might have been a
150/ 151 user or two who has posted there over the years.
