Speaking of which, I ordered the prototype board for the 65816 version of my "contraption"
yesterday and hope to have it working by the end of the month.
It will have 512k of SRAM and support 4MB more via Garth's memory module. It uses an AVR to preload the SRAM during /Reset and has options for an SPI and I2C interface to attach a serial EEPROM/Flash for loading large OS's and/or data tables.
It supports a high-speed USART for terminal access and will have daughter boards for the IO. I'll post more details once I have completed testing on the prototype.
