Wire-applied housings are nice too, but more work. They plug onto the same headers.

The NAND was made to be a Schmitt-trigger type just so the reset circuit could use it and get it all in one IC. For just the address-decoding logic, the Schmitt trigger is not needed, and actually lengthens the propagation delays. At just a few MHz it doesn't hurt anything though.
