This design has become my favorite and I recommend that people look at this design in more detail.
My now third favorite is
jfoucher's Planck design which has a good compliment of software. I prefer the schematic and board design of
6502GPD. I love its symmetrical serial EEPROMs and the 32KB page banking ($1000-$8FFF) is bold and original. However, both are inferior to the symmetrical board design of Eris 2010 and the integrated software. The Eris 2010 enclosure is also ahead of the pack; mostly because it has one.
There has been recent interest in operating systems, libraries and
efficient call conventions. Eris 2010, with parameterized interfaces across multiple applications, would be a very good basis for empirical research.
Likewise, there has been
recent interest in simple filing systems. Eris 2010's filing system may also be a very suitable start.
