Can you tell me which system they came out of? I have hardware technical reference for just about all of the Apple ][ line (assuming it's not from a mac which I don't have any reference for =).

I could probably find the chip without which system, but it would sure cut down on search time.

It was an Apple PCI card (at least it was similar to a PC's PCI) that provided serial communications. I don't have any further info at this moment. If you could find it it'll be a big help. Thanks.
