In short: an expansion card for bolting a Raspberry Pi onto (into?) an Apple ][, making all sorts of neat stuff possible (network access, data storage, using the Apple ][ keyboard/display for interacting with the Raspberry Pi)...

It's amazing how much neat stuff is still being developed for a computer that was introduced 36 years ago.

Interesting! I was thinking about adding in a similar way a Raspberry Pi Model A to my 6502 systems, giving access to I2C, SPI, mass storage, networking etc. for $25.

To increase speed the serial interface could be replaced with a parallel connection e.g. a 6522 to the GPIO of the RPI.
