I just unpacked my old AIM 65 from 25 years ago and thought it might be an interesitng hobby to write some code. Maybe see if I can still develop a small dedicated control device of some sort using a small 6502 SBC.

I ran across cc65 and I am in the process of learning to install and then use on Mac OS X.

I would appreciate any info or experiences others have had using cc65 with Mac OS X. I believe I have it compiled, now I am going back to apply he patches and then re-compile, then learn how to use it.

After all this I will need to get the code from my Mac to my AIM 65. Any clues on how to do this would be much appreciated.

Later,

Andy

Hi, Andy. I've been meaning to get cc65 running on my Linux box, to use with my unit-test simulator. I know it's not precisely the same, but I'd be happy to compare notes if you run into any problems.

Tim, Thanks for the offer to exchange info

Apparently I can get cc65 to compile successfully, but I can't get it to compile a test program (for example the hello.c, included with the package). I suppose it is most likley because cc65 is not installed in the correct place with dependencies, paths and what-not configured. I looked at the docs that came with it, and they seem to do a better job of describing the compiler than helping someone with limited UNIX experience install and use it.

I looked at the Fink doccumentation to see if I could figure out how they install programs, but I can't find anything to help me, again, limited UNIX experience could be part of the problem.

Any clues?

BTW: I just went to your web-site (nice!) and noticed that you have or are working on a simulator for 6502. Any chance this will run under OS X?

BTW2: This forum is rather slow. Any chance we could take this to private email? If so, let me know here and I will contact you through your web-site, if not, OK as well, any help is much appreciated. When the problems get resolved one of us could post a summary here to help others with similar problems.

Thanks,

Andy
