The Apple /// support may be the most interesting. PLASMA loads byte code into the extended memory leaving 32K of global data for programs.

PLASMA provides the same command line interface, running the same program modules on all three platforms. The Apple ][ and Apple /// can run the editor and compiler for a fully self-hosted environment.

PLASMA 1.1 is now available. Mostly a bugfix release. The self-hosted compiler did get a little speed boost with an assembly language helper function for lexical scanning and keyword lookup. Check out:

What might be even more exciting is that this pretty much wraps up the Version 1 tree. Version 2 is well under way with some nice compiler and VM improvements, as well as a focus on other 6502 platforms than the Apple 1, ][, and ///. PLASMA will now be the Proto Language AsSembler for All, not just Apple!
