I spotted a better scan of the book:
"6502 Assembly Language Programming" by Lance A. Leventhal

I think it's one of the best books for the 6502 out there.

I have a well-thumbed original (green cover) edition of that book, as well as a 2nd edition (black cover, somewhat larger). It's what taught me 6502 in 1979. The Osborne books have those little diagrams of the processor and memory with the arrows that show what's going on. I think it was those little pictures that made it sink in.

I found the Osborne books on basic concepts (volumes 0, 1 and 2) over at archive.org, as well as a ton of old computer magazines.

I too have the black cover edition. My original copy, which was the green cover, literally fell apart from so much use, which is why I purchased the newer edition.

I also have a beat-up copy of 6502 Assembly Language Subroutines, also a Leventhal and Saville tome. Some of the pages have been taped into place because the binding is falling apart.

Make sure you also get WDC's programming manual by Liechty & Eyes. Besides being an excellent manual, it covers the CMOS instructions and addressing modes too, unlike Leventhal.
