Hey pal,

It would be great if you give your suggestions and ideas on Java script Tile base game engine. You know.. with click to walk (or keyboard), inventory, grab items, talk to people, exp, levels, etc.

Any Good Ways, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric Paul

Uh, does this have anything at all to do with 65-family microprocessors?

The first tile type game was done in Applesoft Basic on the Apple 2 and was called Ultima.

While it's a connection to the 65xx line of CPUs, I don't think Javascript has any relation at all. Promoting and continuing a discussion about writing software in Javascript on a board intended for the 65xx architecture is not productive.

It's best moved to a Javascript-specific board.

agreed, unless someone is going to port Java over to the 65xx line...

Even then, it's a still a totally different issue. Imagine if folks came to this forum asking for advice on coding software in C, Pascal, or Lisp. All three of these languages are available for the 6502 at least; yet, unless the nature of the questions or applications are directly relevant to the 65xx architecture, asking for advice on coding your favorite application likely won't attract positive sentiment. Dedicated fora exist for C, Pascal, and Lisp.

EhBASIC and Forth both have dedicated space on this forum, but careful examination of the topics therein all tend to have a specific 65xx bent to them. How this interacts with that hardware feature, or performance questions, or the best method to deal with interrupts, or questions on porting software to the 65xx platform, etc.

A Javascript tile-based game is almost certainly going to be 100% platform independent (it'd use dynamic HTML, thus leaving it up to the web browser to implement; BTW, no web browser for the 65xx architecture that I'm aware of supports Javascript). As such, it's better to ask the question on a forum dedicated to Javascript or ECMAscript (they're the same language).

BTW, Java and Javascript are not the same language. They're not even the same runtime environment.

I'm not trying to squash discussion here. I'm just pointing out that this isn't the best place to ask language-specific questions that are not relevant to the 6502/65816 architectures.
