I purchased a program platform from Atmel and would like to find out if there are any open source programs to upload to the programmer. I have WinCUPL and wanted to see how the ATF1504AS works, but I can't upload my PLD file to the programmer. Am I at the mercy of Atmel or is there an alternative? I have an ATDH1150USB-K Download platform. I found something on NuMicro ISP Progamming Tool, but I don't know if that works with my setup. Thank you.

I'm not absolutely sure about this, but it looks like you need to download the ATMISP software to program the device using that cable. here's a link to a PDF I found on the cable which has a link to the software in it.

My guess is you compile your logic using WINCUPL and then you would select the .JED output file within the ATMISP software to program the device.

best wishes!
Daryl

What Daryl said.

  1. Write and compile your logic with WinCUPL.

  2. Test your logic with WinSIM.

  3. Program your device with ATMISP.

Within ATMISP, you will need to set up a programming “chain” for the ATF1504AS. Just follow the prompts.
