I didn't express myself well when i said memory test, i meant ram test.
I use Windows XP(32 bit) SP3, on a desktop pc(AMD Phenom, AM2+ socket).

Dajgoro,

Yesterday I've tried once more again, carefully ZIF socket down, and all process have done as the manual described.
The result is......Wow! it works! I managed to write program into UV-EPROM.

I dont't know how could I acheive the process, but I think Dajgoro is right.
ZIF socket would be cheep, sometimes it can't grab enough dip pin.
So it causes program error, I guess.

G540 is not garbage, but some operational skill would be required.

P.S. I've already ordered another universal programmer ;)

I had trouble sometimes with the green 3M ZIF sockets, but I've never had trouble with the black Aries ZIF sockets. Does this unit have the former?

Mr.Wilson,

My G540 has Black ZIF sockets.
It seems that quality check is not good.

I'm now building UV-EPROM eraser....

I am glad you managed to get it working!

As for erasing eproms, i tried uv-led(1 day), no success, so i moved to try with the sun(1 week), but Zagreb is not a very sunny city, so i ended up ordering the eraser from ebay...

I built an EPROM eraser from a cheap kitchen cabinet light fixture, using a antiseptic UV fluorescent lamp and a mechanical timer. Erase time is typically 12 minutes and I can get 15 EPROMS into the rig at a time.

I've since "improved" my low-tech EPROM erase by attaching the timer directly to the light fixture.

Also, if anyone has the TOPS853 USB programmer and wants version 10 of their software please contact me via PM. Despite the usual Chinese-English gaffes and a somewhat strange user interface, it appears to work much better than the older versions.
