 Post subject: Question on 6502 project

Hi, im using the 6502 microprocessor in a project for skool, now this is wat im trying to do and i would appreciate sum help on how to do this. here is wat im trying to do. im using the microprocessor to power a circuit which is connected to a dc motor which is driving a belt . now im trying to simulate a chek out at a grocery store. i would like the belt to move forward for 5 seconds, and when an item on the belt passes a laser diode the belt stops completely. i hav no idea how to program the microprocessor to do this. can sum1 plz help

Sure. Use the photoresistor as a TTL input so the microprocessor can read it. A port can flash LEDs. Then write a program to read the photocell port. A simple way to make a random number thing is to keep a counter going all the time and merely take the counter as a random number when the photocell is turned on.

Hopefully your trainer's manual gives the basics about the microprocessor and its interfacing and programming; but getting started doing something useful can still be daunting for the newcomer. viewtopic.php?t=342&start=45 may help. Go down about 2/3 of the way down the page to where the post starts with "Tip of the day, #41: Getting started".
