Hi there,

it seems I posted (twice I think) in this thread, but I do not see my posts: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7591
The thread overview shows that I just posted, but it does not appear on the page.

I think my first post that went missing was from my mobile, the second one now on the web browser.

What is going on here? Anyone else notice this?

Thanks
André

i have noticed that you aparently posted in the RAM Banking thread over in the hardware section, and it shows me that the thread has 1 unread post, but when i try to look at it your post is not there.... so now i just have a bugged notification icon on that thread that doesn't goes away.

Isn't 15 the limit of posts for one page? So my answers should appear on the second page, but that second page does not materialize...?

the overview for the thread says there are 14 replies. and inside the thread it says 15 posts total, which includes the inital post.
so yea i think there should be a second page.

guess you could write to support or see when GARTH comes online and just ask what is happening.

i do remember that 1 or 2 days ago the site had some hiccups where it aparently down for a very short amount of time.
basically i reloaded the page and it couldn't connect, but one reload a minute later and it worked again.
maybe you posted in the exact time one of those hiccups happend and your post got stuck in limbo or something.

Something is wrong... I saw that gfoot had posted to that thread, but similarly his post didn't show up.

So, there is some breakage in the pagination - a second page should have appeared - but one can see the new posts manually:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7591&start=11

I gets even more strange. Now I have answered to gfoot's post, and my answer appears on the second page - but none of the posts in between.

They are still visible with your link, though.

It seems as if the number of posts on a page is less than where the second page starts (e.g. display 15 posts on a page, but start each page with e.g. 20 x page number)

Perhaps this summary of the state of that thread will help:
Page 1 shows 15 posts, the last is by and3rson on Sat Jul 22, 2023 6:09 pm
Page 2 presently shows 9 posts, the first being by fachat on Sun Jul 23, 2023 12:29 pm
But if we show posts starting at 11, we see the 15th post is followed by 3 more (gfoot, then 2 by fachat) before the one heading page 2.

That is, as paginated, there are 3 posts not visible or readily accessible. At present. At one time, it was the most recent posts which were not visible, and the second page did not yet exist.

I'm wondering if there is some database corruption - e.g. there is another thread that has me marked at the author when I'm clearly not (I have the 2nd post).. It's the RAM Banking thread in the hardware section...

oh yea i didn't even notice that.
damn drogon, didn't think you'd be stealing threads from other users like that

the missing posts, wrong thread author, and the site occasionally not being reachable, does make seem like the server hardware is having some kind of issue.
who's server is the site running on anyways?

Mike runs the show. I have pinged him about this thread, but not heard back yet.

Interesting note Gordon about thread ownership - that's the very thread we're talking about, so that's just one more weirdness about it.
