Do forum notifications work on this board? I tick the box "Notify me when a reply is posted" but have never had a notification.
EDIT: IGNORE THIS. I am an idiot. Can anyone delete this please?

They work sometimes. We haven't been able to figure out why it's inconsistent. Mike has not changed anything from when it does work to when it doesn't, and vice-versa. I've been getting them for your topic on memory writes though.

What's an additional VIA among friends, anyhow?

Thanks Garth. I have been getting them. There is this little remembered folder called "spam"...

... enough said.

The forum always sends notifications, but delivery is patchy, both in space and time. YMMV.

Notifications have been working for me for a long time. In some cases, several hours may elapse from when the event that caused the notification occurred to when I actually see it. Otherwise, it seems fine.

I've spent some time looking into this because I sometimes have to help new members activate their account when they don't receive the email. Whenever I've attempted to track down if the server sent someone an email, I've found entries in the mail log indicating that it was sent. There are two problems. The first is that an email is actually received but marked as spam, so people don't notice it. The second is that some large e-mail providers seem to sometimes drop the emails silently. Ed sent me some tips for improving email delivery that we'll implement after the HTTPS transition is done.
