I've sort of lost track of the 8-bit guy's (Dave's) Commander X16 project, but it looks like the VERA video generator design has been made public.

This is an FPGA solution for generating VGA video with a bus level interface to the 65C02.

For anyone interested in FPGA video processors, the source code for the F18A, an enhanced, pin-compatible TMS9918A replacement, is also available, in this repository https://github.com/CollectorVision/Phoe ... r/rtl/f18a. This has been confirmed by the author even though he never published it himself.
