65F02: a 100Mhz 65C02 ...

Post by drogon »

Not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but just had it pointed out to me by a friend:

http://www.e-basteln.de/computing/65f02/65f02/

Essentially a drop-in replacement for a 65C02 but the core runs at 100Mhz with the external bus running at whatever clock you give it.

Doesn't look like an on-going commercial project and due to the nature of the components unlikely to be offered as a kit either (unless you're a real whiz with SMT and BGA technology) but all the details are there for the enthusiastic!

Cheers,

There's 7 pages of discussions of the 65f02 viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6190. I'd definitely be interested if this were available in pre-built form :)

Gah, so there is - my search obviously missed that, so as you were, nothing to see, move along, etc. ...

The forum search engine is not the best, so you are excused for missing the topic. :D

Speaking of which, the OP of the topic hasn't been on here since June and the topic hasn't seen any activity in more than a year. Wonder if this project went moribund...
x86?  We ain't got no x86.  We don't NEED no stinking x86!
