Book on the W65C816S

Post by BillO »

Hello everybody,

Have there been any books written about the W65C816S?

Like "Programming the W65C816S" or "W65C816S Applications" or - anything?

Beyond WDC's own documents that is.

There are a couple of others referred to at http://6502.org/books .

I have Fischer's book, "65816/65802 Assembly Language Programming", ISBN 0-07-881235-6, shown here. The Amazon price is ridiculous, and is a result of websites' software upping each other, not from humans fixing these prices; so look around and you'll probably find it for $5 or $10.

There's also this book on eBay "The Apple IIGS Toolbox Revealed" by Danny Goodman (I'll put the entire listing name since the one is likely to get sold and other will pop up), "1986 Apple IIGS Toolbox Revealed 65816 Assembly Language Programming GS/OS", here. I have the "Apple IIGS ProDOS 16 Reference" ISBN 0-201-17754-4 from Apple (which Amazon shows here, and there are apparently several other such Apple IIGS books from Apple.

The Eyes & Lichty book is also available free at https://archive.org/details/0893037893P ... ngThe65816 .

The Eyes & Lichty book you referred to is the best IMO.

Wow. This is more material than one could use in a lifetime. It may be of use to others too.

I downloaded both the Eyes and Lichty and the Labiak books. That should give me a start.

Thanks again.

You're welcome; but I might keep expanding this anyway as a central links point for '816 programming books and resources. Anyone else is welcome to add more of course.
