BTW, did you know your photos can be hosted with your post right here on 6502.org? You may find that more convenient (and more permanent) than using Imageshack.

It's a very good point: I used to use imageshack.us for pictures, and today I trawled through a number of old posts where the image had gone missing, to repair them by replacing with an attached image file. Evidently the image hosting companies don't hold everything forever. I also replaced images which haven't yet gone missing, which is easier because I can redownload them from the hoster then upload as an attachment.

Thanks to Garth for letting me know of the problem.

I notice the same thing has happened with photobucket, and presumably could with others.

A search like this might help, with your own username instead of mine:
https://startpage.com/do/search?q=host% ... k.us+biged
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site% ... k.us+biged

Cheers
Ed

I suspect that they have an OS daemon running that gets rid of the oldest files to prevent the filesystem from being maxxed out. That was very common prior to the advent of the "super capacity" disks that are now available.
