Well,
Just visited Mouser, as WDC newsletter (received via email today) notes that Mouser and Jameco are now carrying their SXB boards and the expansion kits that go with them for experimenters. I also noted that Mouser's W65C51 stock (DIP format) is showing none with 150 on order. I can't imagine who bought the lot of them, as they were the defective ones. There's also a new datasheet (dated October 24th, 2014) which now "sorta" lists the stuck xmit bit problem I found and notified them about. Problem is, they say you need to use the transmit interrupt, but with the bit being stuck on, as soon as you enable transmit interrupts, it endlessly generates interrupts. Anyway they did mention the timing loop I recommended as a workaround. Maybe they are getting a new run of chips made to replace the defective ones. One can only hope. Perhaps I'll send David an email and see if he has any updates on this. I might send Mouser a note as well and inquire about the LOT code when the get new chips in.
