So I went to a local electronic surplus store today known to carry new old stock components. As I was picking up a few '244s, '245s, and '373s IC's for use on the STD Bus and the 65C816, I figured why not and I asked if they had any '816s as well. Turns out they did not. No real surprise I'd imagine. So then I ask for any '02s and sure enough I was told no, that someone put a bunch of 8088s instead there.
Just cause I had bothered the guy (the IC's are behind the counter), I asked him for a couple 8088s just for the heck of it. Turns out he was reading it upside down (those darn 8's and 0's) and they were a date code to NOS California Micro Devices G65SC02PI-1's. They had 8 of them so I picked 5 of them up for 4$ each.
So I am the new owner of 5 1Mhz 6502's for 20$ (plus tax).
