What I did was take a safe copy of my draft and then do a binary search, chopping chunks out and re-previewing to find out which bits were "objectionable". I don't know if Mike gets to see a whole copy of the rejects - you could mail him your draft I suppose, but maybe wait a bit for him to respond to the idea!

Please try to post it again. I've disabled the specific rule that was rejecting it.

I tried it again, and it "previewed" ok. So, I'll assume that whatever rejects the preview is the same as for the other actions as well. All was well an the preview worked. (I already reworked my message and replied earlier).

I too have a question about PM's. Recently I tried to send a PM to two recipients but couldn't. Judging from the interface, it looks as though the software is capable of allowing multiple recipients. But apparently there's a maximum number, and that number is presently one.

Is my assumption correct, and is it safe to adjust the limit upward?

Hmmm, I originally thought the limit was imposed strictly in connection with spamming, but you've raise a valid alternative concern.

Anyone else care to weigh in? Yes it's fairly easy to circumvent the limit. Is that an argument to scrap it as pointless, or an argument to keep it since it's fairly benign? And should our members be encouraged to share their discussions, or should sharing be enforced (albeit weakly)?

I brought it up because a contributing member brought it to my attention, and I remembered having a similar problem. I forget how I outsmarted the POS server. Maybe I renamed it .x or something....

IMO PMs are very valuable, without having to force this topic or that constantly to the forefront of other topics, when most people wouldn't really even care one way or the other.

So, I ask again, what gives on the attachment rules?

I suspect the risk with attachments is the site being used to distribute dodgy files: what they can be used for is to embed images. So I'd expect image formats to be OK. Not sure why *.txt is banned, but you can use http://gist.github.com or http://pastebin.com for that purpose.

The default configuration of the forum software limits a PM to one recipient. I've changed the setting so you should be able to do it now.
