[112.2] Contests

It may be a while before I'm in a position to write any 6502code, and it's likely to be pretty simple stuff even then. I
intend to make the source available and if you think it is worth posting on your site then you're more than welcome.

Perhaps a competition would be a nice incentive ;-)

[113.6] PC AT Keyboard Interface

I imagine it's a lot more work than interfacing to an XT keyboard would be. XT keyboards may be getting thin on the
ground these days though, especially if you need new ones to ship with a product! :-/

[9.68] Design Project

Hello Garth!

GW> 1. Up to 4MHz intended to be simple for those who "are in it to learn and have fun"

I mostly fall into that category, and would be quite happywith 1MHz.

GW> 2. battery-backed SRAM

I could definitely use this, hopefully the circuitry required would not be too involved.

GW> 3 ...

[9.66] Design Project

[Posted to Delphi and to Mike]

Hello Mike!

MN> If you are interested in seeing the "Design Project" developed and distributed then please send me an e-mail at mike@mikenaberezny.com

I'm still interested!

MN> Due to lack of time and resources on my part I can't design and build it by myself but I ...

[90.7] ROMs

Hello Ted!

TM> Why do you want such a small ROM to boot from ?

I should be able to code an appropriate bootstrap in just a few bytes. Digging through my notes though, I'm thinking a
2816 would be appropriate. At 2Kb it's small enough to fitin the 8Kb address range of the 6504 with plenty of room ...

[90.5] ROMs

Hello Garth!

GW> Is there any reason it needs to be so small? If you

GW> can use a bigger one, availability and price will be

GW> better, and there will probably be more programmers

[90.4] ROMs

Hello Ted!

TM> Jameco Electronics has 74S287 (256 x 8) & 74S472 (512 x 8) PROMS in stock. I'm not sure about programming them.

Thanks, I'll look those up.

TM> Have you thought of using a serial EEPROM like a 24C02. They're much cheaper & easy to program. You could operate it off of a 6522 or ...

[90.1] ROMs

Can anyone recommend a small (say, 128 -> 512 byte) PROM of some kind that has tri-state output suitable for shoving on a 6502 bus? Ideally I'm looking for something that's easy to program.

Hi Wally!

Sounds great! Where are you, and how much would you sell them for?

[83.2] Great!

Hi Mike!

MN> I should have more free time to devote to expanding the site and getting some projects off the ground (especially "Iteration 1", it has not been forgotten).

That's great to hear Mike, be sure to let us know when they become available!

Regards,

- Andy.

Hi Mike, great to hear from you!

MN> Jameco carried the 6504 for years but a quick search on their site didn't turn up anything. Still, you might inquire with them to see if they have any small amount of stock left.

Thanks, it's not in their catalogue but as you suggest I'll drop them an email and ...
