I found these 8 digit led starburst bubble displays but they are probably the wrong type as I have never seen the aim-65

could you post a link to the datasheet or the display part number so I can take a look as I may be able to find a substitute that is available retail

They're at least 16-segment IIRC.
Oh I see, are they led or is it possibly a multi digit floresent digit display ? (will be a lot harder to find a replacement)

I have not seen the aim-65 displays but if they are LED 7 Segment then you could use any comman anode or cathode (choose correct type to match original) displays but you will probably have to rewire the connections for the common and a-g segments to match the originals

the 16K 27128 are sometimes hard to find so in the past I have programmed the 16K image into the lower and upper halves of a 32K 27256 which are much easier to find and this will drop into the 27128 socket no problem
