Merlin 64 requires a Commodore 64, and is not going to be much use to you without one. If you've bought an original, it'll probably be on a floppy disc, and that would need a 1541 disc drive as well. Although I do agree there are a number of typo's through out all the electronics books I have for the 6502 , 8085 , 8061 etc , I found them very frustrating when I was starting out as I assumed it to be correct, and the logic worked a different way to general binary mathematics.
