Re: How to think about power and power supplies
If the bobbin is completely filled with a wire, there may not be enough room for extra turns. But, if there is a gap between the core and the winding, then everything is as easy as falling off a log. Perhaps, three to five turns will be enough. Because of the low laboriousness, it is easy to find ...

Re: How to think about power and power supplies
Sometimes power supplies from home appliances can be useful.
I dismantled an old DVD player and got a power supply on a small separate board, which I successfully apply for my home-made devices. +12v stability was insufficient. I added a few turns to the winding and an low-power LDO-regulator ...

Feeling of dawn in the brain.
Thank you BDD. You answered literally what I asked and in great detail.
Thank you whartung. You guessed what I could have asked (but could not formulate the question) and answered earlier (I'm not kidding).

Re: best route for video
I've worked with serial terminals ever since the first VT-series. Every terminal I've used is capable of scrolling in either direction, a feature widely used in full-screen editors. For example, the escape sequence in a Wyse 60 to move the cursor up the screen and scroll the display if the cursor ...

Re: best route for video
I'm sure you use the scroll wheel on your mouse in both directions.
My PC is not a serial terminal.
If a BASIC program consists of 100 lines and I make LIST (my terminal has 20 lines), I will see the lines from 81 to 100. How can I ask the BASIC after this using the mouse wheel to show me lines ...

Re: best route for video
You explain how to implement reverse scrolling. I cannot understand, for wich purpose we need it. We write from the top down. The terminal should do the same. Is not it?

Re: best route for video
Hi Jim.
Until now, I have not had a chance to get acquainted with the products of Ohio Scientific. Everyone in his life had their own toys. I do not think that you can once again get the same pleasure from that old stuff as in those nice days. The 'first time' is possible only once. Nevertheless ...

Re: best route for video
Adding in start and stop bits, you are talking about around 10 kilobits. It can support baud rates up to 37.6k.
More precisely, it is 57,6 kbit per second, i.e., your buffer can be transferred about 6 times per second. I also thought about it, but I would not like 6, but 50 times per second. So I ...

Re: best route for video
Something tells me that this will work very slowly. Even to display and scroll alphanumeric data, 6502 should have to rewrite more than 100 kbyte of graphical buffer. Is not it?

Re: best route for video
Hi
After some thinking, I tend to design my video as composite PAL with ATmega88. I could copy one of Daryl's projects, but unfortunately, the upper part of his code table is occupied by the control codes. I want to put the Cyrillic alphabet there.

Re: 64tass assembler peculiarity
I went through basic.asm searching for square brackets. Not considering comments, such brackets were discovered one time only, in the case under our consideration, i.e. CMP #[TK_TAB-$80]*2 ;)

Re: 64tass assembler peculiarity
I would be tempted to set interrupts aside for a while. They are fairly straight forward, but just add another layer of complexity and potential issues. With BASIC they only add marginal value anyway.
I'm not at all in a hurry with IRQ's. I need only the correct 'dummy' into the code instead the ...
