Re: RC6502 SBC - First time troubleshooter

1- Measure all the chips to make sure they are getting +5 volts and that the grounds for each is also at ground.
2- Make sure the Reset signal is working, i.e., it goes for low for a period of time, then goes high.
3- With power off, make sure none of the address lines are shorted to each other ...

RC6502 SBC - First time troubleshooter

Aloha! First time troubleshooting a 6502 SBC. I built a RC6502 from a kit I bought online. I have a TL866II Plus, I've used it to test the 138, 04 and 00 ICs. I also made sure the 28C256 contents match what is in the BIN file I pulled down from github. And, I've tested the 6502 in an Apple II Plus ...

HELP IDENTIFY: FSR, Inc. YORK-SIU

I stumbled upon a very interesting device. It is a serial interface unit, or SIU. It is manufactured by FSR, Inc. which is still around today. It was marketed by York Telecom Corporation. Based on the chips, it was built around 1993 to 1994. I tried the usual Google search tricks, but can't find ...

John Bell 6522 VIA Card on an Apple IIe Enhanced

Aloha! Total newbie here!

I took out my John Bell 6522 card from storage to test. I have an Apple IIe enhanced, DOS 3.3, and the 6522 card in slot 1. I'm using the following document as reference:

https://archive.org/details/JohnBellEngineering6522VIAAppleIICard/mode/2up

Although the document ...

Re: Yet another Apple 1 Clone that doesn't work

Is there a support thread/forum for the RC6502 project? I've built one, with the five basic boards and the backplane. I have some questions about the jumper settings, particularly for the RAM/ROM board Rev D, and the ROM board Rev B. I already poured through Github, but the jumpers are not covered ...

Re: Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

I just yesterday received the instructional book. It includes the total breakdown of the memory map, and as I expected I was way off. With the book now in-hand, I can start working on this trainer.

Re: Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

I found this schematic of the board. The resolution is low, so reading it is difficult.

Re: Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

From what I can get out of the memory decoding portion, the memory map looks like this: Hmmm -- no RAM in Page 0 and Page 1? ($00xx and $01xx) Is that what you mean? It seems very unlikely, given that 6502 makes special use of those areas for indirect pointers and for stack. I suspect there's a ...

Re: Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

I'll see about getting the monitor ROM dumped. I have a ROM reader, so I'll try to get working on that this week.

In the meantime, I've been studying the board. From what I can get out of the memory decoding portion, the memory map looks like this:

$0000 - $0003 - PIA (6520)
$0004 - $CFFF - not ...

Re: Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

The unit runs great. I had to purchase banana plugs, and modify a 5vDC wall wart with those plugs to get the unit powered (req's 700mA, or more if you have the additional modules.)

The trainer has a 4x4 keyboard. You use it to enter hex, but it also has pre-programmed functions. FWD and BACK upon ...

Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer - Looking for instructions

Just as the subject suggests... I received a Lab-Volt 6502 Trainer. I'm familiar with the workings of the 6502. However, this trainer isn't exactly intuitive. I'm looking for something like a quick get-started sheet of some kind, so I can start playing around with the unit. My intent is to ...
